That seems kinda sus but I looked at my Steam download settings and cleared the download cache, to no avail.ģ) The internet is more or less unusable (Chrome is nonsensically slow, and when I tried to upload a 5~ minute video to YouTube, it made no progress, even overnight. The exception is Steam, which (when downloading a game for example) works perfectly fine, but after it is done downloading, my internet is crippled again. Additionally, turning off all other devices (to see if one was hogging bandwidth) was no good.Ģ) Every program except for one has the issue.
The videos I attached show this.ġ) This problem ONLY affects my device, no other PC or phone in the house has the issue. When I go into task manager, my bandwidth (sending and receiving) looks A-OK (around 100Mbps, which is what it's supposed to be).Īfter a few minutes, however, the bandwidth will instantly and suddenly drop to around 4 KBPS! and will hover around that area, never going above 1Mbps again until I either A) restart the PC or disable and then reenable my Ethernet connection, at which point the cycle repeats: a few minutes of perfect performance, followed by the sudden death of my internet speed. When I first start my PC, everything is fine for a few minutes. Here's what's going on: I built this PC about 21 months ago. I've scoured the internet for an explanation for about a month now and nobody seems to have any answers, and I have tried everything I could think of, so I've decided to ask directly.
